Q 1 Based upon the comparative analysis of national cultures between UK and China, what should BQ have considered with regard to their HRM in China operations, when they expanded their businesses to China? (30 marks) Due to the culture difference between the UK and China, the Human Resource Management system also is different between these two countries. Thus when BQ explored Chinese market, the need consider on changing their HRM system to keep efficiency and adapt China, this specific country, mainly in four areas; work organization, performance management, rewards and promotions, as well as recruitment and selection. As for the work organization, according to Hofstede’s national culture data(), China has a lower individualism compare with UK,() it leads to a phenomenon that Chinese have lower degree of specialization of each individual.
